Guayaberas Alberto Pons
The Cuban tourist.
During 1953, as a 24 years old tourist, Alberto Pons Jacobo left Cuba without imagining that outside his country of birth he would find his true love, raise a family and live for the rest of his life.
Neither imagine Mr. Pons that he would renovate the masculine wardrobe of Panamanians and Latin-Americans by creating a new piece of clothing with the fine points of the sophisticated Cuban “guayabera” (four pocket shirt) together with the light Panamanian “camisilla” (local top). This fusion is called Panabrisa® in honor of Panama and for its comfort and freshness.
Panabrisa® is an international garment, easy to identify but very difficult to copy. His conception stands out for its unique anatomical cut and be made by Panamanian hands.
60 years later.
Mr. Pons is the founder of Confecciones Comodoro, S. A., the haute couture shop with nearly 6 decades of experience in the creation of the Panabrisa® “guayabera”,
Today, the operation is chaired by his eldest son who clearly achieved the challenge of his life: to keep in force a stately elegance design within a casual and comfortable cut.
Since the 90s, his son leads the brand innovations, as the launch in 2003 of Panabrisa® female line, using as his muse the Miss Universe 2002 and Miss Universe contestants of 2003, which premiered describing our “guayabera” dress as sexy and original.
Today.
Panabrisa ® by Alberto Pons ™ leads a great variety of clothing for men as well as women and children, all with details of the “guayabera”, in a wide range of colors and textures such as Egyptian cotton, Irish linen, silk and more recently in denim.
Panabrisa ® by Alberto Pons ™ is exported and has presence in the best stores in Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Aruba and the United States, among other countries.
